Homeland Security Roughs Up Elementary School Teacher for No Reason

An elementary school teacher in Jacksonville, Florida, was directing school bus traffic in front of the school when he noticed a car blocking the bus loading zone. Inside the car were two plainclothes Homeland Security officers. The teacher, Leander Pickett, asked them to move the car. They refused. Pickett and another school employee tried to reason with them. Suddenly, in full view of school employees and students, the men jumped out, slammed Pickett against the car, and handcuffed him. Thirty minutes later he was released. School principal Gail Brinson said, "If this is Homeland Security, I think we ought to be a little afraid ..." LINK

Airline Passengers Face Lie Detector Tests

Developed by an Israeli company, the "truth verifier" is already being used by a British insurance company to investigate claims. Now it is being installed in Russian airports. The device asks such questions as "Have you ever lied to the authorities?" It supposedly can distinguish between answers drawn from memory and those from the imagination. This is junk science, of course--the equivalent of the witch doctor's con game, the "magic" that keeps the ignorant spellbound and enslaved. Thus, the "truth verifier" is nothing more than an instrument of intimidation. Its use will spread. Other airports around the world will begin using it. Perhaps one day all cop cars will come equipped with one, and everyone will bow down to the all-knowing State ... LINK

The Congress has received lots of free advice lately from Mexican government officials and illegal aliens waving Mexico's flag in mass demonstrations coast-to-coast. Most of it takes the form of bitter complaints about our actual or prospective treatment of immigrants from that country who have gotten into this one illegally -- or who aspire to do so ... If you think these critics are mad about U.S. immigration policy now, imagine how upset they would be if we adopted an approach far more radical than the bill they rail against that was adopted last year by the House of Representatives -- namely, the way Mexico treats illegal aliens ...
