Torture is Funny
According to the Washington Post, the Gridiron Club Dinner (an annual get-together of government officials and media types) was a regular laugh riot. Highlights included NBC's Tim Russert dressed up in drag (what's that all about, I wonder) and Bush joking about Cheney's recent shooting of a man in Texas. But the biggest knee slapper of all was a song about torture. I wonder if these government and media elites would find torture so funny if it was them having their testicles crushed and not some innocent 10-year-old kid abducted off the streets of Baghdad ...

Only a Mistake
The Pentagon admits it spied on peaceful demonstrators. But it was a mistake, the Pentagon says. And the Pentagon has now corrected the mistake by removing the names of the demonstrators from its database of terrorists.
Whew! What a relief! I was starting to worry that the Pentagon spied on those people on purpose. Thank God it was just a mistake. I feel a whole Hell of a lot better now.
And not only that, the Pentagon corrected its mistake by erasing all those names from the database. Most government agencies wouldn't have done that. But the Pentagon did it, by God. And the proof they did it is that they said they did it.
And if that doesn't settle the matter once and for all, and remove all fear from your mind of being routed out of bed in the middle of the night and sent on a human cattle car to a Halliburton camp in Hell Hole, Nevada, to suffer a slow, horrible death at the hands of sadistic Fourth Reich guards, then there's something wrong with you. You must have a dopamine imbalance. You must be a conspiracy theorist. You need help. You need a psychiatrist. You need a lobotomy. Your government loves you.

Exporting Censorship
Xeni Jardin: American technology firms are taking heat from the public and Congress for helping China's government police the Internet. But this controversy extends well beyond China and the so-called Internet Gang of Four: Google, Yahoo, Cisco and Microsoft. Just how many American companies are complicit hit home for me last month when dozens of readers of BoingBoing.net e-mailed us to say they had been suddenly denied access ... LINK

Alex Jones: Concentration Camps For American Citizens
... Many researchers have cited the existence of over 107, white, UN railroad cars that have been built by independent contractors in the United States ... These cars can hold dozens of prisoners and have, on numerous occasions, been shown to have 135 human shackles in each car. These would be the cars that FEMA would transfer such terrorists/dissidents to their forced labor, internment, or concentration camps. [C I L F=civilian inmate labor facility] A terrorist who may have only been a peaceful protestor at the Republican National Convention. Or perhaps an individual who had an interest in the wrong book at the library. (A reference to the post 9/11 "What if America, Wasn't America?" line of commercials.) ... Upon the instigation of martial law, FEMA's infamous "RED and BLUE" List, with over 6 million Americans marked for priority arrest, would determine the location of your camp and your fate. It would be the beginning of many more arrests to come. But even if you deny the existence of that list, this one fact cannot be ignored: someone, for some reason, would be on a train to a FEMA camp in a time of national emergency ...
