David Stites, proprietor of DoubleFleeA sent me a link to this article about the controlled mainstream media The Covert News Network (PDF File) which I had not seen—even though it is written by a good friend of mine, Greg Bishop (see Greg's site Excluded Middle which (like MackWhite.com) is part of the Elfis Network).
John Kasper, a singer/songwriter in New Jersey, sent me these links to his new anti-war songs Conspiracy of Silence and We are the Enemy. John tells me that Anthony Krizan of the Spin Doctors produced and played guitar on "Conspiracy of Silence." Be sure to give a listen to these great songs!

You are talking with someone who is anti-war and anti-Bush, yet when you suggest the Bush administration was complicit in the terror attacks of September 11, she lifts an eyebrow and looks at you as if you are dirt. Then she snarls the words "wacky conspiracy theory." She will hear no argument--hear no facts--refuses to do any research. She does not need to, for she listens to NPR, thus already knows it all.
You have not heard from him in decades. You wrote him once, but he never wrote back. Then someone tells him you have become a grandfather and mentions that you have a website. Suddenly curious about you, he looks at your site, is outraged, and writes for the first time. After some obligatory words of congratulations, he gets to the point. He proudly identifies himself as a True, Hannity-Listening American and suggests that anyone who questions the president and the war has somehow smeared the memory of every man who ever fought for his country. You do not bother to reply to his chest-thumping diatribe, for you know where it will lead: nowhere. But at least you know, now, what it takes to make him write.
You have posted a carefully researched, well-documented piece on the Internet about Operation Northwoods and the use of the Hegelian Dialectic in history. It gets re-posted on other sites, including forums. Instead of dealing with the facts in the piece, some persons post comments like this: "Uh-oh! Here come black helicopters! Better put on your tin foil hats everybodie (sic)!" Or: "Yeah, sure, and George W. Bush is really Elvis controlled by the Illuminanti (sic) Overlords." Or: "People make up this conspiracy garbage because they can't get laid." Each individual who posts one of these gems acts as if he is the first to think of them.
It is disheartening to encounter these debased members of your own species, but remember that, in the long run, they do not count. For they are members of the vast herd, and the herd has never been a force for change; the herd cannot act on its own--it can only be acted upon. It can play follow the leader, it can be spooked into stampeding, but it cannot make a move on its own.
In 1776, the majority of Americans did not support the revolution; they were complacent, and scared of rocking the boat, and would have gone on living under tyranny the rest of their lives, had not the minority—an informed, thinking, courageous minority—done what was necessary to bring about change. Naturally, when tyranny was overthrown, the herd rushed to the banquet table to feed on the freedoms it had done nothing to earn.
As Mark Twain said, "In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."
(Twain quote from Monarchical and Republican Patriotism.)

It may not be long before you hear airport security screeners ask, "Do you plan on hijacking this plane?" A U.S. company using technology developed in Israel is pitching a lie detector small enough to fit in the eyeglasses of law enforcement officers, and its inventors say it can tell whether a passenger is a terrorist by analyzing his answer to that simple question in real-time. DREAM: Somehow I receive an invitation to a party honoring George W. Bush. "Surely they don't want me at this party," I think. At best, it sounds like a snafu; at worst, some kind of trap. Either way it promises to be a bad time.
"I think I'll decline," I say.
An old sea captain shakes his head, saying, "No, that would be unwise--maybe even dangerous."
So, reluctantly, I go to the party, which turns out to be a beachside clambake. People are fawning over the president--a shameless spectacle which causes me to shake my head. "What a bunch of sycophants," I mutter.
Someone whispers to me: "The Boy King has no friends. Everyone has been bribed, or threatened, to be his friends."
It's a bad scene. I decide to leave. I step inside the nearest building, a lighthouse which also happens to be the Texas State Capitol, and in a stairwell encounter the president himself, big as life, grinning like the day he was holding the Thanksgiving turkey. He presses money into my hand--a huge wad of century notes--and invites me to come back any time.
I walk away, thinking he's not such a bad guy. As I step out the back door, I see a broadcast tower and wonder if the dream is being beamed into my head by microwave. "Maybe they're beaming the same dream into everyone's head," I think. Sub-audible voices pulsing outward in the night: "Bush is a good man … Bush is a good man …" All across the continent people are receiving the voices, dreaming similar dreams. This is MK-Ultra, baby. Realizing this, I hurry away from the broadcast tower.
Later I'm back in my apartment, but it looks different in the dream. For one thing, the swimming pool is right outside my bedroom window. The sun is coming up and people are going for a morning swim. I go outside and test the water with my foot. It's warm. "What the hell," I think, and jump in. Most of the women in the pool aren't wearing tops. I look at their breasts, thinking: "This is a pretty good way to start the day …"
I wake up, with the feeling that I have really met the president. Now when, exactly, did that happen? Then I realize it never happened. It was only a dream. I have never met George W. Bush in my life. But, I remember, I met his old man once …
It was 1970. I was 17. Bush was running for reelection to Congress. He made a campaign stop in Cleburne, Texas, where I was living at the time. My father wanted to interview Bush for his weekly newspaper, the Johnson County News, so we went to the airport where Bush's plane was scheduled to land.
There was a large group of local Republicans there with welcoming signs and banners. When Bush got off the plane, he shook everyone's hand, mine included. Then he gave a short speech, after which there was a motorcade into town. My father rode in the chartered bus so he could interview Bush. I was conscripted on the spot to drive the convertible with the local teenage beauty queens.
I was not yet a confident driver, thus nervous to be driving an unfamiliar car with three beauty queens watching and George Bush in the bus behind me. But it was not as difficult as I expected. All I had to do was follow the cop car that was leading the parade. The beauty queens sat up high in the back seat chattering and giggling and waving to the surprised people on the street. Meanwhile a loudspeaker on the car behind me blasted a message urging everyone to vote for Bush.
As we drove around the courthouse square, a friend of mine did a double-take. Later, he told me he was tripping at the time and wasn't sure he was really seeing Mack White driving some beauty queens around in a parade for George Bush.
In the courthouse basement, Bush gave another speech. Then he got back on the bus and returned to the airport to fly away to the next campaign stop.
A couple of weeks later, while cleaning my father's office, I found a letter from Bush in the trashcan. My father was always receiving letters from politicians and he always threw them away. I decided to save this one because I thought it might become valuable if Bush became president some day. The letter also fascinated me because it mentioned me in a postscript: "Say hi to Mack for me."
I showed it to my father. "Look," I said, "George Bush remembered me, and he spelt my name right." My father was cynical: "Yeah, these politicians hire people to remember those things for them. He probably didn't even write the letter."
I saved the letter anyway, then forgot about it until a few years ago when I found it in a box full of other things from that era--postcards, ticket stubs, and so forth. Nowadays, I keep the letter inside my copy of Peter Brewton's book George Bush, the Mafia, and the CIA. I'm more cynical than my father ever was …
Riding the bus into central Austin this morning, the memory of the dream and that day in 1970 stay with me. I doze off and they intertwine: … a beachside clambake … a day in 1970 … a lighthouse which also happens to be the Texas State Capitol … the beauty queens chattering "The Boy King has no friends" … broadcast towers … "No, that would be unwise--maybe even dangerous" … Sub-audible voices pulsing "Say hi to Mack" … a shameless spectacle the Thanksgiving turkey … politicians hire people to remember … This is MK-Ultra, baby … "Bush is a good man" … follow the cop car … courthouse basement different in the dream … old sea captain shakes his head … conscripted on the spot … local Republicans aren't wearing tops … welcoming signs and broadcast tower beaming the same dream into everyone's basement, Bush gave another speech "Bush is a good man" … old sea captain shakes his head … most of the women in the pool beauty queens. I was nervous … Sub-audible voices pulsing my name right … a large group of Republicans there, a beachside clambake … lighthouse which also happens to be the convertible with the local teenage president himself, big as life, giggling and waving … I receive an invitation into my head by microwave … Sub-audible voices pulsing some kind of trap. Either way it promises money into my hand--follow the cop car … "Bush is a good man" … old sea captain shakes his head … "The Boy King has no friends" … it looks different in the dream town. My father rode the chartered bus outside my bedroom window ... I was conscripted on the spot to swim. I go outside to test the water with my beauty queens thinking "This is a pretty good way to start the parade hire people to remember" … postcards, ticket stubs … a huge wad of century notes … old sea captain shakes his head … This is MK-Ultra, baby … "The Boy King has no friends" …
The bus comes to a stop. I wake up and see the pink granite dome of the Texas State Capitol lit by the morning sun. It looks different in the dream town …

My friend and fellow cartoonist David Paleo Nunes (see his work here) writes from Argentina with the following anecdote:
Hey Mack, just a quick anecdote, cause I don't think it was reported over there, my president, Nestor Kirchner met with Bush a few days ago, in the course of the conversations, and I guess to put a hold on Junior's unending labial drivel about defending democracy and freedom, Kirchner told him that not only him, but several of his aides and ministers present at that meeting, spent time in jail back in the 70's because of their political activism; Bush was reduced to tell Kirchner that the only time he was in jail, was because of being caught driving drunk!
Oh well, the lameness of it all...

A READER WRITES: Unpleasant stuff, Mack, but a MUST SEE for Americans. The rest of the world has seen it and it is naive to think that there will be no future repercussions. Civilians are being murdered here. There is definitely no visible threat from these people and by the look of the vehicles they are probably farmers engaged in "suspicious agricultural activities". Also, as Michael Rivero of WhatReallyHappened.com points out, the body language of the people suggests that they did not expect the helicopter to open fire.
What the reader is referring to is this video which shows the U.S. military cold-bloodedly gunning down Iraqi civilians. Yes, it is a must-see.

DREAM: In a toy store, stuffed animals and other dolls come to life. They grow to human size and leave the store. At first they are funny, like characters in a Disney movie, but gradually their behavior takes on a threatening aspect. They knock over trash cans and throw things; they shout and jump up in people's faces, trying to scare them. Any second they are going to get completely out of control. Just then a woman who has seen the dolls cavorting on the street walks up, smiling; she seems to think it is some kind of harmless costume party. I try to warn her to get away from them, but it is no use—I watch in horror as a teddy bear bites off her head and eats it. Then I realize it's just a dream, and walk away thinking it would make a good story. I decide to give it the title "Andy Pandy Ate My Brain." Scene shifts to a cocktail party where I'm talking about my idea for a story. When I tell everyone the title, no one sees the humor in it except me. The conversation shifts to Iraq and the search for Weapons of Mass Destruction. "Yeah," I say, "we know who really has the weapons of mass destruction, and it ain't Iraq." Just then, a young man walks in, carrying knives, pistols, rifles, and a machine gun. He is carrying them rather carelessly, which makes me nervous. At one point a rifle swings around and I find myself looking straight down the barrel. I push it away and try to continue my conversation—but I cannot because I'm distracted not only by the guns, but the young man's behavior. He is not acting right. He is agitated about something and seems to be getting angry, which is causing a bad vibe in the room. I realize that, whether by accident or design, someone is going to be shot. Well, it's not going to be me, I think, and leave by a back door. On the street I encounter an old woman who tells me that Errol Flynn lives down the street in an old shack. She reminisces about the golden days of Hollywood when it was different …

Thanks for your positive feedback! Yes, it is sad how many people are asleep. But more and more are waking up—not fast enough, though. Too many, I'm afraid, are like the following individual who recently wrote …
A READER (?) WRITES:
Immediately after reading your story in "Top Shelf Asks the Big Questions", I said out loud to myself, "That's one of the best comic stories I've ever read." I got on the internet later in hopes of locating more of your work. I'm sorry now that I did that, because "Operation Northwoods" soured my enthusiasm. The charge that George W. Bush was behind the 9/11/01 terrorist attacks is spurious and irresponsible. Too much has been made of the links between the Bush family and the bin Laden family. Osama was one of 54 or so children by 12 wives of Mohammed bin Laden. I doubt they're all on the MCI Friends & Family plan. The other link is with terrorist financier Khaled bin Mahfouz. Conspiracy theorists appear incredulous that U.S. oil companies, of which the Bushes are a part, have dealt with rich Saudis, like Mahfouz.
I regret that I will be unable to pursue your previous and future work.
Now that is unfortunate. Your readership was the one thing standing between me and starvation. I do not know what I will do now. I'm too proud to stand on the street corner with a cardboard sign reading, "Will Draw Outrageous Conspiracy Comics for Food." So, I guess I'll just have to starve.
But before I shuffle off this mortal coil, I'll say this: If the Bush-bin Laden links are so innocent, why was the FBI investigating those links in the months leading up to 9/11? Why did the Bush administration tell the FBI to "back off" those investigations? Why did George Bush Sr. meet with bin Laden's brother the day before 9/11? Why were bin Laden family members flown out of the US on 9/11, at a time when no one else was allowed to fly?
If you want documentation, go HERE and HERE. Educate yourself. Wake up while there's still time, you poor addled Coincidence Theorist.

A reader sent this link at Aztlan.net with the comment: "The fact that this article comes from a radical Mexican source makes it interesting."
Yes, it is interesting and encouraging that Bush's proposed legalization of illegal aliens is being seen by those in the Aztlan movement for what it is: a step towards enslaving the Mexican people. However, they are unable to see the big picture, which is that, by flooding the US with immigrants, Bush—or, rather, the globalists—are destroying the middle class in this country with the ultimate goal of enslaving everyone.

Well, I listened to my interview on Angela Keaton's Liberated Space. It was a pretty good interview, if you can get past some of my irritating speech habits. If I had a dime for every time I said "uh" in that interview I could make a nice down payment on 007's Aston-Martin, or the Adam West Batmobile.
Making a down payment on a car is on my mind tonight because all day I've been dealing with the unpleasant reality that my old car is dead and I must buy a new car. I don’t know much about cars. The best advice I've been given is to buy a Toyota or Honda, and to avoid American cars at all costs. Which is a sad commentary on America, when you think about it. Anyway, the only cars I ever really had an affinity for are 007's Aston-Martin and Adam West's Batmobile, and both spring readily to mind tonight, probably because I watched "Goldfinger" on tv the other night and because Adam West and his Batmobile came to Austin a few days ago. I remember putting those model kits together when I was a kid and I sure wouldn't mind owning the real thing—but, hey, let's be realistic, I will probably have to settle for a Toyota or Honda. But at least I can dream.
I spent the whole day fretting over my car problems, so don't have much to blog about tonight. But I did find this news story Homeland Security Technologies in the Pipeline which I'm sure will give everyone sweet dreams tonight. As for me, I prefer to dream of this (the car, dammit, not those guys running around in tights):

Continued from previous blog entry …
The smiling young woman is happy because CAPPS II will "keep her safe." She takes the government at its word; she believes the information collected will never include bank records, credit ratings, or medical records. But, give it time. Eventually, the government will find reason to include all that information, and more—much more.
Political beliefs, for instance, will very quickly become part of the database. In fact, this has already happened. Peace activists have already found themselves on federal "No Fly" lists. (See this story.) The government says they were detained, not because of their politics, but because their names were similar to terrorists' names. This, of course, is a lie. But it does not matter. In time, the government will not have to lie; the government will stretch the definition of "terrorist" to include anyone who is against the War on Terrorism, anyone who disagrees with the government about anything, anyone who has ever attended a protest of any kind, anyone who has ever subscribed to an activist publication or visited an activist website, anyone who has ever written a letter to a congressman or a newspaper objecting to such things as the Patriot Act and No-Fly lists—and these people will lose their Code Green rating.
And it will not stop there. If you have ever gotten into trouble with the law, ever been busted for a joint of marijuana, ever failed to pay a speeding ticket or a parking ticket or a library fine, ever gotten behind on your child support or income tax payments, ever gotten behind on your bills, ever been treated for depression, you will be pulled out of the line at the airport and interrogated, and you will miss your flight and have to take another one—that is, if you are allowed to fly at all.
Soon, the government will find reason to extend CAPPS to non-air travelers. Soon, your color code could determine whether or not you are allowed to ride a bus, or a train, or have a driver's license, or be a passenger in a car, or ride a bicycle, or walk—at least walk somewhere other than a prison yard.
Code Red people will be sent to prison, and either executed or used for slave labor. Code Yellow people will not go to prison, at first, but they will be subject to constant harassment by the police at routine checkpoints and will eventually end up in prison.
If you are Code Yellow, you will not be able to obtain credit or a checking account, or to enter certain public places, like grocery stores, thus you will not be able to feed yourself or your family.
Not that you will have a family. For, if you are Code Yellow, you will have already been declared an unfit parent and your children taken away from you.
Thus, without family, income, and a place to live, you will begin living on the streets.
But you will not have to live there long. You will be arrested for vagrancy and sent to a work camp where you will spend the rest of your life on an assembly line making doo-dads for Code Green yuppies.
But, if the truth be known, Code Green yuppies will not have it all that good. For there will be so many laws—vaguely defined hate crime laws, drug paraphernalia laws, impossibly complex tax codes, rules and regulations governing every aspect of human behavior—that, at any time, anyone could be arrested for anything and their Code Green rating revoked. The only way to regain your Code Green rating will be to buy it back at an exorbitant rate, thus the Code Green ranks will finally shrink to a small, wealthy elite.
And it all started by color-coding the "threat level" of air travelers.
8:07 am CST
DREAM: A newscaster is speaking: "And a reminder, tomorrow is a High Terror Alert Day. You are advised to wear your Green Smiley Button at all times and to report any person you see not wearing one. Your Green Smiley Button identifies you as a Good Citizen 'With Something to Smile About.' Also, remember, your i.d. chip alone will not be enough to gain admittance to a Safety Shelter, in the event of a Terror Attack; you must also be wearing your Green Smiley Button. If you are not wearing your button, you will be refused admittance and then you will have nothing to smile about. (turns to the weatherman) Not much to smile about it in today's weather is there, Tom? …"
After waking up from this dream a little over an hour ago, I turned on the television. A newscaster was saying, "Air travelers we interviewed were evenly split over the proposed new safety system." Cut to a man in a suit expressing reservations about color-coding passengers and requiring more personal information. Cut to a smiling young woman saying she does not care, because it is only inconsequential information the government requires—mailing address, birth date, and so forth. Therefore, she sees no problem with the system and in fact likes it, because it makes her feel safe. End of report.
To be continued …
