Big Bus Trip of '68, Part 6
Rev. Wright went on to describe Heaven and Hell.
Heaven, he said, was a place of such beauty that there were no words in the English language--or any language--to describe it. But he said he would try to describe it anyway. He said it was a place of joy, and peace, and goodness, and fun that never stopped. It was like the best summer day you ever had--no school, beautiful weather, not a care in the world--but even better than that, because the whole time you were basking in the wonderful, warm Light of God. And the other wonderful thing about Heaven, he said, was that you would be reunited with everyone you had ever known and loved in your lifetime--well, not everyone.
Some people would not make it to Heaven, he said. A great many would spend their lives in sin and die unsaved; these people would go to the other place, Hell.
Hell was as horrible as Heaven was beautiful. The torments were beyond imagining, the hideousness of the place unspeakable. It was worse than the worst nightmare you ever had--far worse--because it was real and would never end. A million years would pass, and you would still be in Hell. A billion would pass, and you would still be in Hell. A trillion would pass, trillions more, quadrillions, quintillions, sextillions, septillions, octillions, nonillions, and on and on and on and on--and still, there you would be, burning in the fiery pits of Hell, no nearer the end than when you started because there never would be an end to it.
And just when you thought it wasn't possible to suffer any more than you already had, guess what: the suffering would get worse. With every passing second, it would be ratcheted up a million-fold, a billion-fold, a heptillion-fold, then another million-fold, billion-fold, heptillion-fold, and would just keep getting worse. And worse, and worse, and worse, as the heptillions and octillions and nonillions of years passed, with no end in sight. Misery beyond belief for all Eternity.
"And the worst part," said Rev. Wright, "is that the entire time you will be thinking how unnecessary it is, all this suffering--how you could have avoided every bit of it if only you had done one simple thing: accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior. If you had only made that decision, you would be in Heaven right now, basking in God's glory with your Mama and your friends and all the other people that did accept Jesus. Heaven could have been yours, just for the asking. But now it's too late. Too late. And the sorrow you will feel will be more than you can bear, and you will cry out to the Lord from the depths of Hell and beg Him to forgive you. You will cry out for Him to give you one more chance. You will cry out that you love Him. You will cry out that you will keep the Commandments, that you will never sin again, never touch another drop of liquor, never pick up a cigarette, never commit adultery, never steal, never lie, never cuss and use the Lord's Name in vain, never again wallow in the filth and depravity and ugliness of the world--you will cry out that you will never do any of these things again if only God will give you one more chance. Forgive me, O Lord, you'll say, please forgive me. But it will be too late. Too late. TOO LATE! For the Lord will not hear your cries. You will not be forgiven because it will be TOO LATE. The time to ask forgiveness was when you were alive, the time to accept Jesus was when you were alive, the time to denounce the Devil was when you were alive. But, when you're DEAD, and in HELL, you CANNOT be forgiven, you CANNOT be saved, because IT'S TOO LATE!!!!!!!! ...
"But it's not too late now. Right now there's still time, right now you are alive, right now you can make the decision that is the most important decision you will ever make in your life. You can decide right now where you want to spend Eternity. You can decide right now if you want to go to Heaven, or to Hell. And you'd BETTER decide right now. You better not put it off. You better not say, 'Oh, I'll have my fun now, and ask God to forgive me later.' You can't afford to do that, because YOU MAY BE DEAD IN TWO MINUTES and not have time to ask God's forgiveness. That's how fast Death can strike. I know because I've seen it happen more times than I can count. Why, just last week I saw it happen to two teenagers of my acquaintance. Bob and Bill were their names ..."

"The Largest Database Ever Assembled in the World"
It is being reported that the NSA has been collecting the phone records of tens of millions of ordinary US citizens, most of whom are not even suspected of a crime. The goal is to create a database of "every call ever made" within the nation's borders. Naturally, this is being done to protect you from Al Qaeda ...

Dobbs to President Bush: Do You Take Us for Fools?
CNN's Lou Dobbs ... lays blame for the lack of border security and illegal immigration squarely on the shoulders of "two political parties that are beholden to corporate America, the largest employers of illegal aliens, and the leadership of both parties that are selling out American citizens in search of cheap labor and political advantage. How dumb do you all think we are? Again, that's only a rhetorical question" ... Dobbs says he'll suggest on his television show in the coming days that "the leadership of both the Republican and Democratic parties begin to take some notice of our laws and our expectations that those laws be enforced," as well as reminding them they represent all U.S. citizens, and not just corporate America and special interests ... Documents: US Conspiring with Mexico to Keep Borders Wide Open
According to documents recently discovered on Mexican government websites, the US government regularly informs the Mexican government of the locations of Minutemen patrols along the border.
A spokesman for US Customs and Border Protection confirmed the practice, saying it is done only to reassure Mexico that illegal immigrants' "human rights" are being protected.
Mexico concerned with human rights? Maybe in a parallel reality that is the case, but in this reality (the one you and I, and most other people, inhabit) Mexico is a country that throws environmentalists in jail, shoots striking steel workers, tortures gay prisoners, turns a blind eye to the rape and murder of women, and jails, robs, rapes, and kills persons who illegally emigrate to Mexico.
Given this sorry record on human rights, I would suggest that Mexico's concern lies elsewhere. More likely, Mexico is concerned that the Minutemen volunteers who monitor US borders might impede the flow of illegal aliens into our country, as well as the traffic in methamphetamines and heroin.
And the US appears to share this concern. For not only is our government sharing information with Mexico about Minutemen locations along the border, it is also instructing Border Patrol agents not to follow up on tips provided by Minutemen. (LINK)
And that's not all. It is also being reported that the US is informing Mexico of Minutemen activities in non-border states--that is, the US is passing along political intelligence regarding the membership of Minutemen chapters across the nation. (LINK)
So there it is, openly admitted. The US is conspiring with Mexico, a notoriously corrupt government with deep connections to criminal cartels, to keep our borders wide open.
So much for Homeland Security ...

NEW SHOW NOW ON LINE
This week's show includes a new dream sequence I recorded on an invention of mine called the Dreamograph. Every night I attach electrodes to my brain to capture the audio of my dreams (can't record the visuals yet, but I'm working on it). Once in a while I record a dream that's fit for public consumption and/or has entertainment value. Well, that was the case with this week's dream, in which I actually channeled Elvis. No kidding, the King himself actually made a guest appearance in my dream, and you can hear it (along with lots of other great music) by clicking HERE. Hope you enjoy it ...

Big Bus Trip of '68, Part 5
I heard thunder and sat up to look through the window by my bed. The valley was darkening under rain clouds. A gentle wind blew through the trees. Soon, rain began falling.
It was a peaceful rain, and soothing. I lay back down, listening to the gently reverberating thunder. I forgot my misgivings about the camp, the daunting prospect of 38-1/2 hours of church, and relaxed. In a few minutes I was asleep.
Later, Richard woke me. It was almost time for dinner.
We went to the recreation area. While we were waiting for the dinner bell to ring, a fellow summer camper walked up and introduced himself. His name was Paul and he was from Decatur, Alabama.
We hit it off with Paul right away. Meeting him put to rest any concerns we might have had that everyone attending the camp was a pious student of Baptist theology. Within a short time, the three of us were exchanging dirty jokes.
After dinner, we attended our first Evening Church Service. Rev. Bill Wright himself gave the sermon.
The reverend was folksy and likeable; he started off the sermon with a few funny stories, then began talking about how wonderful it was to look out and see so many young faces in the tabernacle, and how wonderful it was to be young, with our whole lives ahead of us, and how we should enjoy it because it won't last forever. In fact, he said, we would be all grown up before we knew it, with kids of our own, and then one day we would look up and see that our kids had grown up and had kids of their own, and we would realize that we were old. Yes, some day we would be old, he said. At least, half of us would. For statistics showed that the other half of us would die when we were middle aged, if not younger. In fact, some of us--about ten he guessed--would never make it to adulthood.
"That's right," he said, "ten of you sitting in this tabernacle right now, living and breathing and all the rest, will be dead in a few years, if not sooner. Why, it could happen a week from now, on your way home from this camp. Your bus could have a terrible accident. It happens. There was a Continental Trailways bus just five years ago that was hit by a truck right outside Nashville, and it exploded. Everyone was killed. Burnt alive. Yes, it happens. And don't think it can't happen to you. That's what the people on that bus thought. They didn't know when they got up that morning and got dressed, and packed their suitcases, and bought their bus tickets, that they were going to be burnt alive in a terrible accident before the day was over. No one ever thinks it's going to happen to them. It's always going to happen to the other feller. Yes, that's what everyone thinks. But the truth is, Death comes to us all, and your time could be coming faster than you think."
Then he began describing what happens to us when we die. He described the changes that occur in a dead body, how it goes limp at first, then after a few hours stiffens up, then later goes limp again, then lays there in the grave and eventually begins to rot and be eaten up by worms until all that's left is a moldy old pile of bones.
"That's what happens to your body," he said. "Not a pretty picture, is it? Well, luckily, you won't be there to experience the horrible process of rigor mortis and putrefaction, as it's called, because you'll be gone from your body. Yes, that's right. You'll be gone. The part of you that does not die--your soul--will have already left the body. It will be somewhere else. Now, where do you suppose that might be? Where do you think your soul will go? Well, according to the Bible, there's only two possible places ..."
